2006 morgon prestige, domaine du calvaire de roche-gres, morgon 75cl
this morgon, from a single vineyard with exceptional terroir is ample and balanced with robust cherry and apricot fruit. this wine will morgonne, as the french would say, in other words, develop slowly and uniquely, eventually taking on the characteristics and qualities of a red burgundy. the wine exhibits aromas of kirsch and fruit eaux de vie as well as subtler mineral characteristics inherited from the terroir. another coup de coeur for this top grower
2004 monbazillac 'ancienne cure' 37.5cl
monbazillac has a long history (it's recorded as early as the 14th century) and is one of the world's great sweet wines. this example from christian roche (one of the best growers in the appellation) has flavours of marzipan, orange peel and spices
warre's warrior port 37.5cl
the oldest marque of port in the world - made from a blend of traditional portuguese varieties in the douro valley. aged in oak casks for 4 to 5 years giving a deep red colour and aromas of ripe red fruit & spices
